The Service The
Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service is the radio station that reads
for people who can't read. For 24 hours every day, Niagara Frontier Radio
Reading Service volunteers broadcast readings of newspapers, magazines,
books, vital local information and other printed matter to blind and print-handicapped
persons throughout Western New York. The Radio Reading signal cannot be heard on a normal radio; the NFRRS provides special radio reading receivers to area print-handicapped people.
NFRRS Board Operater: Andy Volunteer radio readers broadcast readings of newspapers, magazines, books and other printed matter every day; a typical reader has 1 1/2 hours to record a 1-hour reading. "Live" newspaper readings are 2 hours in length, with two readers alternating. The Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service is on-the-air 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The NFRRS needs volunteers to do readings, to do clerical work and to assist at special NFRRS events. Get more volunteer information Contact
